Urodzony w 1890 r. we Lwowie, zmarł we Wrocławiu w 1979 r. Absolwent krakowskiej Akademii Sztuk Pięknych pod kierunkiem Jacka Malczewskiego i Stanisława Dębickiego. Członek grup artystycznych "Zwornik" i "Nowa Generacja". Członek redakcji "Głosu Plastyków" i wiceprezes i przedstawiciel Polski w "Confederation Internationale des Associations Plastiques".
Profesor Państwowej Wyższej Szkoły Sztuk Plastycznych we Wrocławiu. 1962 - współzałożyciel ugrupowania plastyków tzw. "Szkoły Wrocławskiej".
