Elektrochemik, zastępca dyrektora Instytutu Chemii Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego w latach 1974-1981. Kierownik Zespołu Elektrochemii i Termodynamiki Stopionych Soli, kierownik Zakładu Dydaktycznego Chemii Fizycznej.
Wieloletni pracownik naukowy Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego. W latach 1956-1960 asystent, 1960 - 1963 starszy asystent, 1963-1968 adiunkt, 1968, docent.
Tytuł doktorski otrzymał w 1963 r., habilitację za pracę "Szereg SEM chlorków metali w stopionym chlorowodorku dwumetyloaminy." otrzymał w 1968 r. Profesorem został w 1974 r.
